Muddy Monday

Ever since I started running races, I've always wanted to participate in one of the many awesome Mud Runs that are out there; in particular, one has stood out to me; the Pretty Muddy race series.  You might be wondering, "what is it that makes this one stand out from the others"?

In their own words, "Pretty Muddy is a 5k adventurous obstacle course mud run for any woman who wants to get outside, spend time with friends, and have fun." This race isn't about competition or beating someone (it's not even officially timed); it's about having an amazing time with your friends and maybe even making a few new friends along the way.  And, while Pretty Muddy will ALWAYS be about time with your girlfriends, they also have a Family Edition that provides an opportunity to include your family in the fun!

Now, here comes the real reason I love Pretty Muddy so much; they raise money for breast cancer research.  They've partnered with Susan G. Komen and in addition to their partnership, any women running the race can individually raise money through Komen as well.  I lost my grandmother to breast cancer and have had several friends and family friends battle breast cancer as well over the years.  I think it's awesome of Pretty Muddy to partner with Susan G. Komen and cannot express how much I appreciate what they are doing to help put an end to this terrible disease.

And, like that wasn't enough, they're giving free race entries to breast cancer survivors!  You can find more information on the free entries at this link (you can also find information and a link on their Facebook page).

And, that's not the end of the great deals!  The first 200 participants get 50% off their race fees; the next 200 get 40% off, etc.  And, if you use the code: GIRLSGONESPORTY during registration, you'll receive $5 off your registration fee.

Check back here on February 14th for additional ways to get involved with Pretty Muddy and there may even be additional savings opportunities!
