In like a lion...

I think it's safe to say that March really does come in like a lion.  We started March off with another snowstorm.  Thankfully, it wasn't as much snow as the last one, but, I was just starting to be able to see the sidewalks and could almost taste an outside run...now I have to wait again for everything to thaw out.  I'm holding my breath and hoping the "out like a lamb" part comes true also.  At least I have some great tea filled with wisdom to keep me warm and cozy. This is my Muscle Recovery Yogi Tea; it smells so amazing, you HAVE to try it.  Plus, who doesn't like tea that has a fun inspirational saying on each teabag?

During the month of February, I created a yoga challenge for myself via Instagram.  I assigned one pose per day for each day in February.  Some were ones I had previously done, and others were uncharted territory for me.  Soon I will write up a recap of my February challenge, but here's a sneak peak of one of the poses that I had never tried before.  Not terrible execution, but I would like to see myself improve this drastically.

I've been continuing to take the SurfSET classes at the gym a couple times a week and have started testing out other classes at the gym as well.  Yesterday I got in an awesome run on the treadmill; it's been awhile since I broke 9 minute miles for more than two (without taking a break to lift weights between each mile) and I was able to hold on and finish strong with 4.2 miles averaging 8:50 per mile.  Unfortunately, I hit clear on the treadmill before capturing the end result so I only have the 5k mark documented.

After feeling great about my run, I tried two new classes at the gym back to back that same night.  A 30 minute Cardio Sculpt class, followed by a 60 minute Barre class.  I'm feeling a little sore today, but can't wait to be back at the gym tomorrow for another SurfSET session.  And, not only have I been hitting the gym hard to build more upper body and core strength, but, I've been enjoying some great food as well.  This was last night's dinner; salad, grilled lemon pepper shrimp, and half a baked sweet potato.  Delicious and gluten free!
